Loyal E. Watterson
Loyal E. “Red” Watterson, 75, of Butler passed away Monday at the VNA Inpatient Hospice, Butler.
Born Oct. 4, 1935, in Butler, he was the son of the late Wilson and Fannie (Hutchinson) Watterson.
He retired from the U.S. Army National Guard in 1978 and from Armco in 1992.
He was a member of the American Legion Post 778 in Lyndora and enjoyed woodworking after his retirement.
Surviving are his loving wife, Jo Ann (Hartzell) Grus Watterson, who he married Sept. 4, 2004; his children, Kim (Henry) Deal of East Butler, Ken (Cindy) Watterson of East Butler, Mike Watterson of Petrolia, Lori Schnur of East Butler and Jamie (Bridget) Watterson of East Butler; his stepdaughters, Heidi Isbell of Illinois and Kristen Grus of Gibsonia; his brother, Ronald Watterson of Florida; 15 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Edna Mae Watterson, who passed away Aug. 7, 2001; his twin, Doyle Watterson; his brother, Donald Watterson; and his sister, Dorothy Hohen.
<B>WATTERSON</B> — A memorial gathering for Loyal E. “Red” Watterson, who died Monday, Dec. 6, 2010, will be Wednesday at American Legion 778, 150 Legion Memorial Lane, Butler, from 11 a.m. until the time of the memorial service at noon.
