Flora Mae Jones

Flora Mae Jones, 82, of Worth Township, Slippery Rock, died Saturday at North Hills Passavant Hospital.

Born in Hendricks, Tucker County, W.Va., Nov. 20, 1928, she was the daughter of Odis Riley Summerfield and Bessie Ellen Long Summerfield.

She married William Ray Jones Jr. on March 27, 1949. He preceded her in death on Oct. 13, 2005.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Wolf Creek Presbyterian Church, Worth Township. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star North Hills Chapter 526 in West View. She enjoyed gardening and playing bingo.

Surviving are a son, Richard A. Jones of Pittsburgh; two daughters, Ellen J. and her husband, Joseph McCaskey, of New Brighton and Doris and her husband, Craig Allison, of Slippery Rock; three sisters, Rachel Gregg of Philippi, W.Va., Ruby and her husband, Dan Kisamore, of Parsons, W.Va., and Barbara Steele of Belington, W.Va.; five brothers, Carl and his wife, Barbara, Summerfield of Parsons, W.Va., Doyle and his wife, Jeanette, Summerfield of Philippi, W.Va., Walter Benjamin “Ben” Summerfield of Philippi, W.Va., Lonnie and his wife, Rose, Summerfield of Pittsburgh and Rodger and his wife, Barbara, Summerfield of Belington, W.Va.

Also surviving are 11 grandchildren, Bobbie Lynn (Patrick) Eichensehr of Pittsburgh, Amy Lynn Helms of Pittsburgh, Cristol Love Abbott (Mark) of Ambridge, William Ray Helms (Gina) of Pittsburgh, Jessica Ellen McCaskey of New Brighton, Samantha Rae Jones of Butler, Odis Ray Jones Jr. of Butler, Julia Ann McCaskey of New Brighton, William Joseph McCaskey of New Brighton, Shari Lynn Michelotti (Mark) of Beaver Falls, and Chauncey Craig Allison of Slippery Rock; five great-grandchildren, Kristin Lynn McCaskey (Shane) of Girard Ohio, Olivia Marie Helms of Pittsburgh, Tristina Angelina Roseta of Norfolk, Va., Crystalee Childer of Lowber, Pa., and Mark Albert Michelotti III of Norfolk, Va.; seven, great-great-grandchildren, Landon James McCaskey, Elizabeth Lynn McCaskey and Makeylah Rae McCaskey all of Girard, Ohio, Aronia Emilyann Roseta of Norfolk, Va., and Ethan Christopher Childer, Jacey Danielle Childer and Mason Alexander Childer all of Lowber.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Odis Ray Jones Sr.; four brothers, Jack, Odis William, Charles and Golden Summerfield; and two sisters, Alberta Fredrick and Freddie Tripplet.

<B>JONES</B> — Services for Flora Mae Jones, who died Saturday, Dec. 4, 2010, will be at the <B>Smith Funeral Home</B>, 421 New Castle St. Slippery Rock, at 7 p.m. Wednesday with an Eastern Star service beginning at 7 p.m. and leading directly into the funeral service. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 3 p.m. until time of service at 7 p.m.Memorial contributions may be given to the Shriners Hospitals for Children, 1645 W. Eighth St., Erie, Pa 16505 or to the Wolf Creek Presbyterian Church, Route 108, 344 Creek Drive, Slippery Rock, PA 16057
