Annual march set for Jan. 24 in D.C.

Nine buses are scheduled to leave from various sites in Butler County on Jan. 24 to join the annual March for Life in Washington, D.C.

This is the 38th march held to commemorate the date that the Supreme Court legalized abortion in the United States, according to a news release from the Butler County Chapter of Pennsylvanians For Human Life.

The Butler delegation will meet with congressmen Jason Altmire, D-4th, and Mike Kelly, R-3rd, and senators Bob Casey, D-Pa., and Pat Toomey, R-Pa., to discuss legislation related to protecting all life.

The March For Life begins with a rally, where members of Congress and Pro-Life leaders will speak. The actual march will be at 1 p.m. and will follow Constitution Avenue for about one mile to the Capital, according to the release.

Following the congressional meetings the buses will leave Washington, returning to Butler about midnight.
