Danielle Zarnick of Butler Township is participating in a charity project to benefit ProNino USA, a nonprofit organization that provides shelter, food and education for street children in Honduras.Zarnick is a senior at Penn State, majoring in elementary education with a minor in special education. She is doing her student teaching at the Ferguson Township Elementary School in the State College School District.She is the daughter of Dave and Judy Zarnick of Butler Township.She and about 60 other interns in the professional Development School in Penn State’s College of Education are organizing Teachers Warming Our Future, a mini-blanket making marathon to be held in January. The interns and their professors hope to make a total of 75 blankets.Each blanket requires four yards of fabric.The blankets will be sent to ProNino USA.Contact Zarnick at drz5018@psu.edu to give a monetary donation or to donate fleece material or blankets.———

Lifesteps received a $250 grant from the Sam’s Club at Moraine Pointe Plaza.The grant will be used to purchase parent handbooks for Lifesteps’ Families Forever program.
