Rev. Paul Willette

The Rev. Paul A. Willette, 58, of Butler died Sunday in Waltersburg, Fayette County, where he was serving as an interim pastor.

Born in Putnam, Conn., he was the son of the late Albert A. Willette and Elsie L. Fiske Willette.

The Rev. Willette was the district associate for missional development for the Pittsburgh District Church of the Nazarene.

He was a 1976 graduate of Eastern Nazarene College in Quincy, Mass., where he earned a bachelor's in religion. He then went on to earn a master's of divinity degree in 1979 from the Nazarene Theological Seminary in Kansas City, Mo.

He was the NCD director and the ministerial assessment director for the Pittsburgh District. He was a member of Butler First Church of the Nazarene and enjoyed planting churches, family, fly-fishing, gardening and camping.

The Rev. Willette is survived by his wife of 35 years, Nancy Willette; two daughters, Amanda Willette of Monroeville and Mary Willette Riordon and her husband, Nathan, of Mount Vernon, Ohio; one son, Peter Willette of Butler; one brother and his wife, Charles and Wendy Willette of Raymond, N.H.; two sisters, Louise Wheeler and her husband, Arthur, of Wakefield, N.H. and Margie Johnston and her husband, Russell, of Scarborough, Maine; and a number of nieces and nephews.

<B>WILLETTE</B> — Friends of the Rev. Paul A. Willette, who died Sunday, Nov. 28, 2010, will be received at the Pittsburgh Nazarene District Center, 177 North Road, Butler, Thursday, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. and Friday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Funeral services will be immediately follow at 1 p.m. Friday with Dr. Steve Dillman and the Rev. Bret Metcalfe officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Chestnut Cemetery.In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Paul Willette NewStart Foundation, payable to Pittsburgh District Church of the Nazarene, 177 North Road, Butler, PA16001.Arrangements are under the direction of <B>Thompson-Miller Funeral Home</B>, and information and a private guest book are available at www.thompson-miller.com.
