Norma Jean Neely
Norma Jean Neely, 81, of Renfrew died at 7:55 p.m. Friday in Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born in Connoquenessing Township, Nov. 17, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Floyd Walker and Laverne Hilliard Walker.
She was a member of St. John's Reformed Church.
Mrs. Neely was an elementary school teacher in Evans City. She then went to work for the Butler School District as a teacher and then became chairwoman for the library science department.
She was a 1953 graduate of Slippery Rock College and was very active in her church. She was a member of the Meridian Volunteer Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary, the Butler County Association of School Retirees and the Pennsylvania Association of School Retirees. Mrs. Neely was a member of the Alpha Sigma Chapter of the Delta Kappa Gamma Society. She also was a 4-H leader for 20 years.
She is survived by her husband, James E. Neely, who she married June 16, 1955; one daughter, Donna S. Zang and her husband, Robert C. Zang Jr., of Evans City; two grandsons, Jason R. Zang and Garrett J. Zang of Evans City; one sister, Joanne M. Jamison and her husband, Bob, of Renfrew; and a number of nieces and nephews.

<B>NEELY</B> — Friends and family of Norma Jean Neely, who died Friday, Nov. 26, 2010, will be received at the <B>Thompson-Miller Funeral Home</B>, 124 E. North St., Butler, Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be at the St. John’s Reformed Church Wednesday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Dr. Robert C. Peterson officiating.
