Linda Darlene Shoup Petrocy, 63, of Reigle School Road, Rimersburg, passed away at her home Tuesday at 2:32 p.m., surrounded by her loving family and under the competent care of the Clarion Forrest VNA Hospice staff.

She was born in Toby Township near Rimersburg on July 22, 1947, and was the only child of the late James Francis Shoup and Mae Marie George Shoup.

She was a member of the Jerusalem United Church of Christ in Rimersburg where she was organist and pianist.

She was a graduate of the Union High School Class of 1965 and was a member of the marching band where she played the clarinet.

She graduated from Clarion University with a degree in elementary education with a minor degree in English and had taught in the Union School District for many years.

She was a member of the Southern Clarion County Ambulance committee, had taught piano lessons in her home for 10 years and was a devoted grandmother to her four-month-old grandson, Benjamin Petrocy.

She married Edward Stephen “Steve” Petrocy on March 21, 1970, at the United Church of Christ in Rimersburg, and he preceded her in death on Nov. 11, 2010.

She is survived by one son, Stephen James Petrocy and his wife, Jennifer, of Rimersburg; one grandson, Benjamin S. Petrocy of Rimersburg; and several aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her mother on Dec. 2, 2001, her father on June 28, 2009, and her husband on Nov. 11, 2010.

<B>PETROCY</B> — Friends of Linda Darlene Shoup Petrocy, who died Tuesday, Nov. 23, 2010, will be received at the Jerusalem United Church of Christ in Rimersburg from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday Funeral services will be at the church at 3 p.m. Sunday with Rev. Dr. John W. Gareis officiating.
