1 killed, 3 hurt in Phoenix strip club shooting

PHOENIX — Police say a man is dead and three people are wounded after a gunman opened fire in a Phoenix strip club.

Sgt. Tommy Thompson said this morning that the shooting occurred shortly before midnight Sunday.

He says a 28-year-old man walked into the Great Alaskan Bush Co. in northwest Phoenix and opened fire, hitting four people before running out of ammunition.

Thompson says people inside the club wrestled the man to the ground and held him until officers arrived.

A 34-year-old man died from gunshot wounds after being rushed to a hospital.

Thompson says a 20-year-old woman and two men, ages 20 and 22, were all hospitalized with gunshot wounds. He didn’t have details on their conditions.

Police also responded to a west Phoenix strip club early Saturday after a security guard shot a patron who later died at a hospital.
