Virginia M. Jones
Virginia M. Jones, 84, of Chicora died at 6:10 a.m. Sunday in the VNA Inpatient Hospice, 115 Technology Drive, Butler.
Born in Fairview Township, Chicora, May 20, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Richard H. McCullough and the late Emma C. Volk McCullough.
She was a 1944 graduate of Karns City High School and a graduate of Butler Business School.
She had been a teller at Mellon Bank in Butler and in Chicora for a number of years. She also was Fairview Township's secretary for 12 years and the treasurer of the food cupboard in the Petroleum Valley.
She was one of the first people to deliver Meals on Wheels in Chicora and the Petroleum Valley.
After surviving a stroke in 1998, she continued to cross stitch with the use of only her left hand.
The love, care and support of her beloved husband was her drive to live a full life the past 13 years.
She will be greatly missed by her husband, Carl E. Jones, who she married Oct. 12, 1948, in Dubois; daughter, Patricia Beck and her husband, Edward, of Butler, and grandchildren, Adriane Beck of Butler and Ian Beck and companion, Bur Chu, of Pittsburgh.
She was a lifetime member of the former Mount Pleasant Lutheran Church, now the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Chicora.

STEIGHNER FUNERAL HOME,</B> Main and East Slippery Rock streets, Chicora. Visitation also will be at the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 2217 Chicora Road, Chicora, from 9 to 10 a.m. Wednesday with funeral service at 10 a.m. at the church with Rev. Robert Newpher, interim pastor of the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, officiating.
