Earl B. McDeavitt
Earl B. McDeavitt, 85, of Butler passed away at 5:45 p.m. Thursday at the Autumn Grove Care Center in Harrisville.
He was born May 2, 1925, in West Liberty, the son of the late Robert Earl McDeavitt and Elizabeth (Wimer) McDeavitt.
Earl was a carpenter for the Local Union 922 and built many homes in the area.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church and a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps, having served in World War II.
Surviving are his daughter, Deborah (Dennis) Groves of Lexington, Ky,; his son, Ronald (Pamela) McDeavitt of Harrisburg; six grandchildren, Christopher (BreAnna) Groves, Ashley Groves, Jonathan Groves and Andrew, Matthew and Gregory McDeavitt; and two sisters, Leah McDeavitt of Slippery Rock and Bertha Stewart of New Wilmington.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen B. (Snyder) McDeavitt, who he married June 4, 1948, and who died April 13, 2010; and by five sisters and two brothers.
<B>MCDEAVITT</B> — Friends of Earl B. McDeavitt, who died Thursday, Nov. 18, 2010, will be received at <B>Young Funeral Home</B>, 127 W. Jefferson St., Butler, Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m. Services will be at the funeral home Monday at 11 a.m. with Pastor David Maitland of First Baptist Church officiating.
