Irene L. Weiss, 86, of Boyers passed away at 2:05 p.m. Wednesday at Orchard Manor.

She was born Aug. 13, 1924, in Higgins Corner, Venango Township, the daughter of the late John Oravecz and Nellie Godivitz Oravecz.

She was a member of the Epiphany Catholic Church in Boyers.

She had been a supervisor at the Slippery Rock University cafeteria for more than 20 years.

She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. John (Nancy) Sack of Boyers; two sons, Edward Weiss and his wife, Evelyn, of Slippery Rock, and William Weiss and his wife, Bonnie, of Harrisville; 10 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two sisters, Ann Kornic of Pittsburgh and Mrs. Fred (Nellie) Blair of Hermitage; and one brother, Joseph Oravecz, and his wife, Becky, of Hilliards.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward G. Weiss, who died Nov. 7, 1962; two sisters; and one brother.

<B>WEISS</B> — Friends of Irene L. Weiss, who died Wednesday, Nov. 17, 2010, will be received at the <B>William F. Young Funeral Home</B>, 132 Main St., West Sunbury from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 Friday. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Epiphany Catholic Church. Burial will be in the Old Annandale Cemetery.
