Bowser

Mae L. Bowser, 92, of Lumar Village, Butler, and formerly of North Pike Road, Cabot, died peacefully Sunday morning surrounded by her children at the Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Born in Jefferson Township, Butler County, on May 9, 1917, a daughter of the late Peter and Lillian Risch Kriley.

She retired from the food service department of the Butler School District in 1982 after working there for 10 years. Before that, she had worked for 10 years at the cafeteria at the Butler YWCA.

An active member of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in Herman, she was formerly a Eucharistic Minister and a past president of the Christian Mothers organization. She also was a past president of the Butler Deanery of the Diocesan Council of Catholic Women. She was also a member of St. Paul Catholic Church Christian Mothers and a 50-year member of the Catholic Daughters of America, Butler Court.

She was a member of the Tanglewood Senior Center and the Sixty Plus bowling league. Additionally she had been a faithful volunteer at the Butler Memorial Hospital, the VA Butler Healthcare, and the Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

She was the widow of Edward G. Bowser, who died March 23, 1977, and she was also preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters.

She is survived by a son, Alvin E. Bowser and his wife, Deborah, of Cabot; a daughter, Luella Gold (Mrs. Harry) of Butler; two grandchildren, LeaAnn Donnel (Todd) and William Gold (Colleen Christie); five great-grandchildren, Darian, Brady and Kaylee Gold, and Logan and Levi Donnel; a sister, Jeannette Beblo (Stanley) of Butler; and Pat Nikolauyk, who was her good friend and neighbor.

<B>Bowser</B> — Friends of Mae L. Bowser, who died Sunday, Dec. 13, 2009, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. today and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the <B>Geibel Funeral Home</B>, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler.A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in Herman. The Rev. Ward Stakem, OFM Cap., pastor, will officiate.
