William L. “Bill” Anderson, 73, of Boyers passed away at 4:40 p.m. Wednesday at Butler Memorial Hospital after a six week illness.

He was born April 20, 1937, in Butler County. He was the son of the late Adam Leroy “Son” Anderson and Helen Elizabeth McCall Anderson.

He served four years in the U.S. Air Force and was a member of the Epiphany Catholic Church in Boyers. He had been employed at Armco Steel for 32 years on the A.O. Vessel (Melt Shop). He was also a member of the Boyers Sportsman's Association.

He is survived by his wife, Emma Jane “Toddy” Isacco Anderson, who he married May 6, 1961; one daughter, Karen McDowell and her husband, Scott, of Slippery Rock; two sons, Jeffrey Anderson and his wife, Kelli, of Lewistown, and Gregory Anderson of Boyers; five grandchildren, Zachary Anderson, Nathan McDowell, Zane Anderson, Adam McDowell and Jared McDowell; one sister, Mrs. Clair (Dorothy) Gardner of Slippery Rock; two brothers, Francis “Andy” Anderson and his wife, Patty, of Butler and James Anderson and his wife, Shirley, also of Butler; and several nieces and nephews.

<B>ANDERSON</B> Friends of William L. “Bill” Anderson, who died Wednesday, Nov. 10, 2010, will be received at the <B>William F. Young Funeral Home</B>, 132 Main St., West Sunbury, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. today. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Epiphany Catholic Church in Boyers with the Rev. Kevin Poecking officiating. Burial will be in Epiphany Cemetery.
