Kasing

Linda J. Kasing, 56, of Harmony passed away Monday at UPMC Passavant hospital, McCandless Township.

Born Nov. 6, 1954, in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of Louis J. Kasing Jr. of Cocoa Beach, Fla., and the late Eleanor (Conte) Kasing.

Linda was an advocate for animals. Starting in childhood, she was determined to advocate for them. She attended a plethora of clinics to educate herself in animal welfare and function.

She belonged to the Northeastern Tennessee Walking Horse Association and was a well-respected member of the equine community. Her horses, especially Hoofer, were a beloved part of her family. She was full of love and compassion and every animal she ever met responded to her sense of caring and wisdom.

She was involved in several horse rescues that involved her rehabilitating severely neglected horses. She generously and willingly donated countless hours to restore the health of these helpless animals. Whether it was a swan, duck, horse or goat, she believed every animal deserved love. She is survived by her beloved Hoofer.

Linda also loved billiards. Introduced to the game by her son, Anthony, Linda was determined to master it. She became an accomplished pool player and a member of the American Poolplayers Association and Brevard Major Pool League in Florida. Together with her nine ball team, the James Gang, she won many tournaments and received three first place trophies and three plaques. She also shot pool with champion professional pool player, Allison Fisher.

Linda's favorite pastimes, beside riding and billiards, were spending time with her children, her dog Eddie, and friends.

She had the ability to make everyone smile through her incredible sense of humor. Full of life and incredible spirit, Linda had the ability to make everyone she met feel as if he/she knew her forever. She also loved the sunshine and the beach.

Linda will be deeply missed by her children, her friends and all the members of the Kasing Auto Sales' team, where she had been the marketing director.

In addition to her father, Linda is survived by her daughter, Nina Grinnell Roman (Johnny J.) of Harmony; her son, Anthony Grinnell (Kelly) of McMurray; her granddaughter, Kiley Star Grinnell; two brothers, Jerry Kasing (Vicki) of Harmony and Jonathan Kasing (Darla) of Harmony; and nephews and nieces. She also is survived by several aunts and uncles and her horse of 33 years, Hoofer.

In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her brother, Anthony Joseph Kasing; and her late German Shepherd, Eddie.

<B>KASING </B>Friends of Linda J. Kasing, who died Monday, Nov. 8, 2010, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at <B>Boylan Funeral Home</B>, 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at St. Gregory Roman Catholic Church, 2 W. Beaver St., Zelienople. Friends please meet at the church.
