Walter Joseph Nock, 83, of Butler died early Friday morning at Butler Memorial Hospital.

Born May 7, 1927, in Perrysville, he was a son of the late Joseph Nock and Helen Durst Nock Curry.

He had been a sandblaster for the National Value Co., formerly in the Lawrenceville area of Pittsburgh, for 17 years until the plant closed, and he also had been the assistant manager for the Garden Gate restaurant in Prospect.

He was a member of St. Paul Roman Catholic Church in Butler and was a former member of the St. Fidelis Roman Catholic Church in Meridian, and the St. Fidelis Mens Club, as he formerly lived on Woodlawn Road, also in Meridian.

Walter was a member of the American Legion Post 117 in Butler and had volunteered at VA Butler Healthcare in Butler for 25 years.

A veteran of World War II, he had served with the U.S. Navy in the South Pacific theater.

Surviving are his sister, Lois Mae Errington of Allison Park; two nieces, Judy Williamson of Allison Park and Linda Honeywill of Gibsonia; and two nephews, John Williamson and Bob Williamson, both of California.

<B>Nock </B>— Friends of Walter Joseph Nock, who died Friday, Nov. 5, 2010, will be received at the <B>Geibel Funeral Home</B>, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday. Funeral services will be Monday at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. The Rev. Gerald Lutz will officiate.
