Mary Lou Pierce

Mary Lou Pierce, 63, of Melvindale, Mich., died Monday.

Mary was born in New Bethlehem, Clarion County, Jan. 21, 1947. She was the daughter of James L. Davis and Catherine Kriebel Davis.

Mary spent her early years in Clarion Township, Clarion County, and later moved to Butler County near Parker.

Mary graduated from the Karns City High School in 1965.

Shortly after graduation, she moved to the Detroit, Mich., area where she worked for Heublein Inc. for a number of years and then was a pharmacy technician until her retirement in 2009.

On Nov. 17, 1995, Mary married Harry Pierce, who survives. She also is survived by two daughters and a son, Sigrun Ann Lobo and her husband, Gregory, of Livonia, Mich., Michael Scott Tanner and his wife, Karen, of Taylor, Mich., and Susan Causey and her husband, Roy Jr., of Blountstown, Fla.; and seven grandsons, Christopher, Daniel and Steven Lobo, David, Joshua and Leroy Causey and Andrew Tanner.

Also surviving are two sisters and five brothers, Martha Cochran and her husband, Glenn, of Oil City, Helen Roosa and her husband, Kenneth, of Vaughn, Wash., James Davis and his wife, Paula, Donald Davis and his wife, Darlene, and Andrew Davis and his wife, Donna, all of Fairbanks, Alaska, Mark Garris of Parker and Matthew Garris of Wyandotte, Mich.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents; an infant son, David Tanner; and a brother, Jackie Davis.
