Treser

Ralph D. Treser, 87, of Butler died Sunday at the VNA Inpatient Hospice in Butler.

He was born Nov. 3, 1922, in Turtle Creek, a son of the late Harry L. and Sarah Patten Treser.

Ralph was a butcher and worked for A&P supermarkets in Butler until his retirement in 1979. He previously worked for Pullman Standard, Oil City Supply and Butler Steel Car.

He served in the U.S. Army National Guard during the Korean War.

Ralph was an avid beekeeper and ran a large bee hive operation commercially.

He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping and gardening.

His wife, Hazel E. Dufford Treser, who he married Sept. 7, 1950, preceded him in death Sept. 4, 2002.

Surviving are a stepsister, Agnes Geer of Leavittsburg, Ohio, and several nieces and nephews.

His son, Ralph D. Treser Jr. and three brothers, George, Henry and Calvin Treser, preceded him in death.
