JEFFERSON TWP — Concordia Luthern Ministries' Skilled Nursing Facility is one of a dozen in the state to receive Excellence in Quality Care Awards for its high scores on government standards.

The 196-bed unit received the highest possible rating under the federal Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Five-Star Quality Rating System and had no deficiencies during its annual inspection by the state Health Department.

State Secretary of Aging Michael Hall noted that the 12 facilities awarded represent less than 2 percent of the 631 Pennsylvania facilities that participate in the Medical Assistance program.

As part of the recognition, Concordia receives a $40,000 grant from the state Department of Aging and the Office of Long-Term Living to enhance patients' quality of life.

Marmon/Keystone, a wholesale distributor of tubular products with its headquarters in Butler, has announced a hiring and two promotions.• Jennifer Wetzel has joined Marmon/Keystone's corporate office as an accountant with year-end and month-end closings. She has 13 years of experience and has a bachelor's in accounting from Clarion University.• David Tripicchio has been promoted to operations manager at the company's newest facility in Spring Valley, Ill. His Marmon/Keystone career began in 1993 as a warehouse employee at the Chicago service center. Tripicchio advanced through a series of warehousing and supervisory positions in production, traffic and quality control. He has served as warehouse manager in Chicago since 2009.• Frankie Krouse has been named district operations and sales manager for the Cleveland and Hebron, Ky., offices. Hired in 2006 as warehouse superintendent at the Rochester, N.Y., office, he later advanced to operations manager at Hebron. Krouse holds a bachelor's degree from Slippery Rock University.

JEFFERSON TWP — Concordia Lutheran Ministries has made several administrative hires at its Concordia at Cabot location.• Beth Campbell comes to Concordia with several years of senior care experience, most notably as manager of the Slippery Rock Senior Center. She has a bachelor’s in recreation leadership from Slippery Rock University and an associate’s in therapeutic recreation from State University of New York at Farmingdale. She lives in Slippery Rock. As director, Campbell is responsible for managing the day to day operations of the Adult Day Services program at Concordia.• Sandra Bright will be working with new nurses for on-boarding, educating staff in a variety of clinical areas, consulting on clinical questions and concerns and developing new clinical programs and protocols. A graduate of Clarion University with a master’s in nursing, SRU with a bachelor’s in nursing, and Community College of Allegheny County with an associate’s in nursing, Bright most recently worked at Butler Memorial Hospital. Bright lives in Center Township.• Yvonne Kaczmarczyk has completed training as a certified development executive, certified Christian gift planner and certified Christian stewardship associate through the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod Foundation. She worked for 15 years as accountant and Christian gift planner at St. Luke Lutheran Church in Cabot. Her duties include managing the communication and information tracking for grants distributed through Concordia’s Angel Tear Ministries Program, presenting charitable giving workshops and providing the assistance and tools needed to help donors. She will also assist the director of development with coordinating and implementing fundraising efforts and donor stewardship. She lives in Butler.
