Long

Walter C. Long, 71, a longtime resident of Lawrence Park, Erie County, passed away Saturday at his son's home.

He was born in Grove City, June 12, 1939, a son of the late Clifford and Lucille Long.

Walter was a 28-year employee of General Electric, retiring in 1996.

He was an avid golfer and enjoyed playing at Downing Golf Course with his wife. He especially enjoyed time with his family watching the Pittsburgh Steelers, hockey and soccer.

Walter was preceded in death by his wife, Billie Long, his brothers, and his sister.

He is survived by three children, Brian Long (Jane) of North East, Erie County, and Gordon Long (Mary) and Denise Connolly (Sean), all of Harborcreek, Erie County; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

Walter's family would like to give a special thanks to all the staff from Asera Care Hospice who were involved with the care of their father.
