LaRue M. Allen

LaRue M. Allen, 83, formerly of Central Drive, Butler, passed away Sunday at the VNA Inpatient Hospice.

She was born Aug. 5, 1927, in Deanville, Armstrong County, the daughter of the late John and Anne (Moorhead) Griffin.

LaRue was a member of the North Main Street Church of God, the Women of the Church of God and the Keenagers Sunday school class.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Richard (Linda) Campbell of Gilbert, Ariz., and Mrs. A. William (Diana) Sloan of Butler; two sons, John Allen of Butler and Terry and Mary Allen of Butler; eight grandchildren; five great- grandchildren; and a sister, Mabel Wetzel of New Bethlehem.

Also preceding her in death were her husband, Richard G. Allen, who died Aug. 4, 1988; a daughter-in-law, Linda Allen; and a sister, Thelma Proctor.

<B>ALLEN</B> — Friends of LaRue M. Allen, who died Sunday, Oct. 31, 2010, will be received at <B>Young Funeral Home</B>, 127 W. Jefferson St., Butler, Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and on Wednesday from 9 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. Interment will be in the West Sunbury Union Cemetery.Contributions may be made in memory of LaRue to the charity of the donor's choice.For more information, go to www.youngfuneralhomes.com.
