Judy Brinkman, BASF Evans City site manager, on Friday presented a check for more than $30,000 to Leslie Osche, executive director of the United Way of Butler County, while standing on a 1929 Peter Pirsch fire truck owned by the Cranberry Township Fire Department. The employees raised $15,329 through events including a Chili cook-off on Oct. 20, and a “Management Masquerade event where employees purchased tickets and voted for the member of the management team they wanted to see wear a costume for a day. The company matched the employee´s contribution. The site, which has supported the United Way since 2003, increased it´s contribution 14 percent over last year.
