BASF donates to United Way

BUTLER TWP — The BASF Corp. of Evans City on Friday donated $30,659 to the 2010-2011 United Way of Butler County campaign.

The employees raised $15,329 through events including a chili cook-off on Oct. 20 and a management masquerade event where employees bought tickets and voted for the member of the management team they wanted to see wear a costume for a day.

The company matched the employees’ contributions.

BASF, which has supported the United Way since 2003, increased its contribution 14 percent over last year.

United Way is working to raise $1.5 million for agencies in Butler County. The campaign will end in June.
