Josh Brake scored on a penalty kick late in the second half as the Mars boys soccer team upset Beaver 2-1 in the first round of the WPIAL Class AA playoffs Monday night.

Beaver (15-2) took a 1-0 lead early in the second half on a direct kick.

But 20 minutes later, Yulian Lutsiv answered with a match-tying goal that set the stage for Brake's heroics.

The Planets (12-5-2) will play Elizabeth Forward (14-5) in the second round Thursday.
