BC3 VOLLEYBALL
YOUNGWOOD — Butler County Community College won six of seven games over the weekend to capture the Western Pennsylvania Collegiate Conference women's volleyball title at Westmoreland Community College.
The top-seeded Pioneers (19-4) defeated No. 4 seed Penn Highlands 25-20, 25-8, 25-14 in the semifinals. BC3 then dispatched No. 2 seed Potomac State 25-17, 20-25, 25-19, 25-22 to win the championship.
Sarah Beals led BC3 with 20 kills and 32 assists while Ashley Campbell had 30 kills and Stephanie Eagal 11 kills.
Danielle Lloyd had 37 digs, Hillary Pendel 19 digs and Kelli Davis 33 assists.
Beals, Pendel, Campbell and Lloyd were all-conference selections for BC3.
The Pioneers host the Thiel junior varsity at 6 p.m. Wednesday. The match will feature a Dig Pink Rally to benefit the Side Out Foundation for breast cancer research.
Admission is $5 with youth under 12 admitted free.
