CORAOPOLIS — The Ruffed Grouse Society's annual upland bird hunt is set for Nov. 4 to 6 in the Pennsylvania Wilds Region.

The hunt includes a reception party Nov. 4, two days of hunting, two breakfast buffets, admission to Meet the Artist, a buffet dinner Nov. 5 and a ticket to the grand banquet Nov. 6.

HARRISBURG — The Pennsylvania Board of Game Commissioners recently gave preliminary approval to a change that would allow the placement of portable hunting stands on state game lands from two weeks before the opening of the first big-game season to two weeks after the close of the last big-game season, excluding the spring gobbler season.
