For you see, Little Darling, you're not with us anymore.

For you to open or to see your big blue eyes,

Widen in surprise and your beautiful little smile.

And the laugh you gave us all.

It's not the same without you around,

It breaks our hearts, as we try to go on.

Some day we hope we understand,

Why you were taken so very young.

You enriched our lives with happiness,

Gave such dignity and grace,

To the simplest acts of living

That now our hearts with only longing

For the one we'll see no more.

Until we meet at judgment,
