At the WPIAL Section 3-AA Doubles Tournament Thursday, Knoch's top pair of Katie Conlon and Peggy Kanterman fell in the championship match to Maeve McAllister and Tessa McArdle of Ellis School 4-6, 6-3, 7-5 at the Oxford Athletic Club in Wexford.

Conlon and Kanterman received a first-round bye, then defeated Concetta Staltari and Ashley Gottschalk of Vincentian Academy 10-3.

In the semifinal round, the duo dispatched Nicole Roque and Elizabeth Friedman of Winchester Thurston 6-3, 7-6 (7-4).

Abby Conlon and Alyssa King, Knoch's No. 2 doubles, blanked Marissa Mehal and Janelle Mosovski of Highlands 10-0 in the first round before falling to McAllister and McArdle 11-10 (7-4) in the quarterfinals.

In WPIAL Section 2-AAA, Butler's top doubles team of Courtney Gallagher and Abbey Turner defeated Seneca Valley's Shelby Resch and Julia Vandrak 11-9 in the opening round, but fell to No. 2 seed North Allegheny's Kylie Isaac and Mikayla Becich 10-0.

Butler's No. 2 doubles team of Laura Brestensky and Zoey McCafferty lost to Mars' No. 1 team of Kaitlyn Craig and Brianna Beck 10-3.

<B>Slippery Rock 6, Grove City 0</B> — Anna Cessar and Danielle Wissinger each scored two goals to lead the RocketsMorgan Siebka and Casey Dudek also scored for Slippery Rock. Goalkeeper Jordan Marks stopped three shots to earn her fourth shutout.
