It was another wild week in high school football.

Lightning disrupted two games Thursday night, postponing one until Saturday.

Butler came up just short of its first win of the season.

Moniteau got so banged up in its loss to Brookville it had to hold open tryouts Monday.

Oh, yeah, and Grove City scored 91 points against Franklin.

I had a wild week, too. I went a gaudy 10-2 to run my season record to 25-10. The best part was I didn't get beaten up by the Ohio University mascot. Sorry, Brutus.

Apparently, the Bobcat ate his spinach.

So did I. Here's my stab at a perfect week:

Pine-Richland 26, Butler 10 — The Golden Tornado are getting better and they have a real shot at Pine-Richland, but they have to play error-free football.•

McKeesport 36, Seneca Valley 17 — The Raiders' offense is legit, but their defense?•

Knoch 38, Fox Chapel 15 — The Knights have outscored their first three opponents 170-7 and are gaining about a billion rushing yards a game.Fox Chapel is better than the previous three Knoch foes, but the Knights should have no problem rolling to victory again.•

Mars 20, Indiana 18 — No team can grind out victories like the Planets.Babies in the Mars School District grow up with the Wing-T playbook alongside Dr. Seuss in their cribs.•

Freeport 18, Burrell 16 — The Yellowjackets won ugly Saturday against Shady Side Academy.But they won. They'll win again.•

Karns City 21, Keystone 14 — The score in KC's game with Wilmington was lopsided: a 50-7 loss. But for the first time in 2010, the Gremlins played a little bit like the Gremlins.KC will get things going in the right direction against Keystone.•

Moniteau 20, Redbank Valley 13 — Hawkeye Pierce and B.J. Hunnicutt are on call in the Moniteau M*A*S*H unit this week — just in case.•

Maplewood 32, Union 12 — The Tigers have a balanced offense and a dangerous receiver in Daishawn Mewborn.That's not a good formula for a Union team that is struggling.•

Slippery Rock 25, Meadville 18 — The Rockets keep getting better.The offense can be scary with quarterback Ryan Currie and running back John McAvoy. It'll be scary enough to get SR coach Brendan Hathaway his first win.•

Grove City 30, Greenville 10 — No 91-point outbursts this week, but with that defense, the Eagles don't need them.•

Summit Academy 41, West Shamokin 9 — It's the year of the Knights.•

Brookville 47, A-C Valley 11 — The Falcons played well in a 20-0 loss to Redbank Valley last week.Watch your back, Bobcat. Watch your back. Just saying.
