Shawn Benjamin Slater
In memory of Shawn Benjamin Slater, September 1, 1987 to September 12, 2005.
I see him on his pillow there
Or resting in the reclining chair.
I stand beside his desk and chair,
Knowing I won't find him there.
His bed is empty and tidy now
So hard to be in there somehow.
Remembering all his grins and groans
Working out that summer, heard his moans.
Heard the songs that he'd listen to
Even learned to like a few.
Still see him in the clothes I dry
Many times I bend and cry.
Five years have come and gone away.
Those mem'ries kept like yesterday.
Hear his voice and see his grin.
Then the tears begin again.
Yet the day will soon arrive.
Shawn and loved one will revive.
Not to death that holds them now
But eternal PEACE. Ev'ry knee will bow.
Longing for that HOPE eternal
In Christ there'll be no hell infernal.
Shawn Benjamin wanted all to know.
There's only ONE WAY....In Christ; to go!
Thank you Lord for a Faith-Righteous Son.
Loving and missing that fellowship with Anticipation for Christ's Return.
