Last week was a story of the good, the bad and the ugly for me.

Seven up, four way down.

The good: Not only did I predict the winners of the Wilmington-Slippery Rock, Redbank Valley-Union and Grove City-Erie East games, I nearly got the final scores correct.

The bad: I didn't give Summit Academy enough respect, it seems.

The ugly: Brashear? Really? I picked Brashear over Knoch and all the Knights did was set a school record for points scored in a game.Let's have all the good and none of the bad and ugly this week:•

North Allegheny 29, Butler 6 — Slow goes the rebuilding project. Rome, and better Tornado fortunes, were not built in a day.•

Seneca Valley 38, Fox Chapel 25 — The Raiders are going to be an exciting team this season. If they can tackle Foxes running back extraordinaire Montay Green, they should notch another W.•

Knoch 44, Albert Gallatin 7 — Fool me once ...•

Pine-Richland 29, Mars 13 — The Fightin' Planets are more like the Fragile Planets these days. Injuries are already taking their toll.The Rams will be waiting to take advantage.•

Freeport 22, Quaker Valley 10 — The Yellowjackets are too good to lose two in a row to start the season — right?•

Karns City 31, Redbank Valley 15 — If the Gremlins can't shore up a defense that was gashed by Moniteau last week, this could be an interesting game.But Karns City's coaching staff always has been good at making adjustments.•

Clarion 21, Moniteau 18 — The Warriors don't have a good track record when it comes to squaring off against Clarion.This is a tossup in my book. I give the three-point home edge to Clarion.•

Punxsutawney 44, A-C Valley 11 — Those gritty Falcons led at halftime last week and made a game of it. Punxsy, though, is four times the size of A-C Valley and, quite frankly, shouldn't even be on the same schedule.But they are, so Punxsy probably will win by four times the score.•

Union 16, Saegertown 12 — (Moment of silence for the late Golden Knights coach Al Pryor).•

Grove City 25, Corry 7 — The Eagles defense is scary good and QB Tyler Dagres is as efficient as an LED light bulb.•

Franklin 32, Slippery Rock 24 — The Rockets had to open with superpower Wilmington last week, but they held their own for big stretches of the game. They will do so again against talented Franklin.•

South Fayette 36, Summit Academy 26 — You gotta love the Knights. I doubt any other team in the state has a running back averaging 89 yards per carry like Summit's Rashaun Burney.Scoop would always go for 2 after a touchdown.
