Betty May Stahlman

Betty May Stahlman, 86, of Hoch Road, Butler, died at 11:30 p.m. Tuesday in the VNA Hospice in Butler.

Born Dec. 23, 1923, in Perry Township, Jefferson County, she was the daughter of the late Paul H. Stahlman and M. Marie Slawson.

Betty was a clerk at the A&P supermarkets.

She was a member of the Westminster Presbyterian Church in America.

She is survived by five brothers, Lee C. Stahlman and his wife, Arlie, William L. Stahlman and his wife, Mary Ellen, Terry P. Stahlman, and Darl M. Stahlman and his wife, Judy, all of Punxsutawney and Jerry T. Stahlman and his wife, Nancy, of Lewisberry, York County; three sisters, Oma Joy Dunmire and her husband, Arnold, of Punxsutawney, Mary Ann Holt of Parker, Colo., and Nada Marie Smith of Fort Washington, Md.; one sister-in-law, Sharan Stahlman; two foster sisters, Shirley Shuber and Elizabeth Emery; special friends, Nathan and Abby Percy; and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, John S., James H. and Thomas D. Stahlman; two sisters-in-law, Margaret Stahlman and Evelyn Stahlman; and one brother-in-law, Ronald J. Smith.

<B>STAHLMAN</B> — Private graveside services will be held for Betty May Stahlman, who died Tuesday, July 20, 2010.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the VNA Inpatient Hospice, 115 Technology Drive, Butler, PA 16001; the Western Pennsylvania & West Virginia Chapter of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, River Walk Corporate Center, 333 Carson St., Suite 441, Pittsburgh, PA 15019, or to Westminster Presbyterian Church in America, 420 N.
