Leah E. Flick

Leah E. Flick, 20, of 9588 Route 68, Rimersburg, passed away at home Monday after a courageous eight-month battle with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma.

She was born May 27, 1990, in Kittanning. Leah was the daughter of Rick and Mary Beth Clark Flick.

She was a 2009 graduate of Union High School in Rimersburg, where she was active in basketball, volleyball, track and cross country. In her younger years, she participated in Little League baseball and YMCA basketball.

Leah had worked at the Sligo Sunoco before attending Butler County Community College, where she was a freshman majoring in massage therapy and physical therapy assistant, until she became ill in November 2009.

She attended the Rimersburg United Methodist Church and the Grace Community Church in Curllsville, Clarion County.

In addition to her parents, Rick and Mary Beth Flick of Rimersburg, she is survived by her brother, Michael Flick and his fiancee, Kayla Painter, of Butler. She also is survived by her maternal grandmother, Isabel Clark of Rimersburg; her paternal grandmother, Phyllis Jean Flick of Distant, Armstrong County; many aunts, uncles and cousins; and her beloved puppies, Paige and Sadie.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, John W. Clark, and her paternal grandfather, Roger Flick.

<B>FLICK</B> — The family of Leah E. Flick, who died Monday, July 19, 2010, will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the <B>Varner Funeral Home </B>of Rimersburg. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the Rimersburg United Methodist Church with the Rev. Brock Beveridge, pastor of Rimersburg United Methodist Church, Pastor Dan George of the Grace Community Church and the Rev. Randy Evans, VNA Hospice chaplain, officiating. Internment will follow in the Rimersburg Cemetery.The family suggests memorial donations be made to Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and/or the Southern Clarion County Ambulance Service.
