JEFFERSON TWP — Folks who enjoy farm-grown produce have a new place to go.

The Saxonburg Farmers Market runs 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesdays at the Saxonburg VFW on West Main Street beginning next week.

Sandra Simpson, market organizer, said the idea is for vendors to sell any thing produced on a farm, including baked goods and items made out of wool.

"I hope it's something that can grow," she said.

Simpson said more than 10 farmers are supposed to offer their wares at the market.

Through word of mouth, Simpson was able to draw farmers.

"I put the feelers out and we'll see what catches," she said.

Simpson hopes the site will draw people.

"It's a nice location," Simpson said. "It's easy to find."

She initially had problems finding a spot. Eventually, the VFW was contacted.

"Now we've got a place and we're happy."
