Lois H. Rea
Lois H. Rea, 93, a resident of the Chicora Medical Center in Chicora, formerly of Perryville, Parker, passed away at 11:15 a.m. Saturday morning at the center of natural causes.
Born Oct. 29, 1916, in Butler County, she was the daughter of the late Howard L. and Margaret Frisbee Headland.
She was married May 2, 1942, to Francis E. Rea, who passed away June 27, 1991.
She was a longtime member of the Perryville United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women.
Lois was a graduate of Slippery Rock State Teachers College, now Slippery Rock University, and completed graduate studies at the University of Wisconsin in Madison, Wisc.
She taught public school in Butler, Beaver and Allegheny counties for several years.
Active in church work, Lois also was very involved with the ladies auxiliary of the former American Legion at Perryville.
She is survived by a daughter, Nancy Rea Perlman and her husband Alan of Columbus, Ohio; two sons, Edward Rea and his wife Eleanor of Franklin, and Thomas H. Rea and his wife Sandy of Chicora; five grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; a brother, Charles Headland of Virginia; and nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by three sisters and two brothers.
<B>REA</B> — Friends of Lois H. Rea, who died Saturday, July 17, 2010, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at <B>H. Jack Buzard Funeral Home</B>, 201 S. Wayne Ave., Parker.Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Glea Foster, a United Methodist minister, officiating. Burial will be in Perryville Cemetery near Parker.
