Connoquenessing United Methodist Church, 206 Main St., will host a movie night at 7 p.m. Saturday showing "Alvin and the Chipmunks II, The Squeakquel." There will be pizza, popcorn and pop, and a surprise for children attending. Adults are welcome.
Covenant Life Church will host a community block party from noon to 4:30 p.m. Saturday at The Net, 100 Center Ave. There will be Sidewalk Sunday School for children in preschool to fifth grade. There also will be a live band, food, tae kwon do and fire demonstrations, storytelling, puppets, games and prizes. Backpacks will be handed out.
First Baptist Christian School, a ministry of First Baptist Church of Butler, 221 W. New Castle St., will host back-to-school night tonight starting at 6 p.m. with food and fellowship and a 7 p.m. meeting in the church auditorium.
