A Centre City Summer Jam featuring a free concert will take place from 6 to 10 p.m. Friday in downtown Butler.

The event is planned for 6 to 10 p.m. in the parking lot at the corner of East Cunningham and South Main Streets (former Woolworth property).

The all-ages show will feature the band Doxy Drive at 7 p.m. and Moon Drag at 8:30 p.m.

Food and beverages will be available.

The event is sponsored by businesses and Butler Downtown, the revitalization program working to bring new energy and vitality to the city's central business district.

PENN TWP — Jazz artists will perform from 1 to 8 p.m. Aug. 22 at the Succop Conservancy, 185 W. Zelienople — The Strand Theater will present its inaugural jazz festival, "JazZelie," with concerts at 8 p.m. Aug. 20 and at 2 and 8 p.m. Aug. 21.Six jazz acts will perform three concerts over two days. Two groups will perform during each concert.Individual concert tickets are available, but discounts are offered for two- and three-show packages.
