Alice B. Lumley

Alice B. Lumley, 84, a 55-year resident of 419 McConnell St., Grove City, died at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at the Grove Manor Nursing Home after a brief illness. She had been a resident of Grove Manor for four months.

Born in Karns City, March 23, 1926, she was the daughter of Harry McElravy and Grace Simpson McElravy.

She married J. Dean Lumley on June 2, 1952.

Mrs. Lumley was a homemaker and retired from the Social Security Administration, Boyers, where she was a clerk for 23½ years.

She was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church, Grove City.

She was a graduate of Karns City High School, and she grew up in that area. She enjoyed spending time with her family on Lake Erie in Conneaut, Ohio, and she was a University of Pittsburgh football fan.

Surviving are her husband, Dean at home; a son, Jeff Lumley and his wife, Sue, of Grove City; two stepdaughters Carole Grace and her husband, Laurice "Butch," of Grove City and Kathleen Watters and her husband, Don, of Painesville, Ohio; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

<B>LUMLEY</B> — Private family services for Alice B. Lumley, who died Thursday, July 1, 2010, will be Saturday morning in the <B>Cunningham Funeral Home</B>, 306 Bessemer Ave., Grove City, with the Rev. Paul Milliken, senior pastor of Grace United Methodist, officiating. Burial will follow at Prairie Cemetery.Memorial contributions may be made to Grace United Methodist Church, 210 S. Broad St., Grove City, PA 16127.
