Pietro "Peter" Cappuccio, 54, formerly of Butler, died unexpectedly Friday in Burlington, N.J.

Pietro was born March 27, 1956, in Ceraso, Salerno, Italy, the son of Sabato and Nicolina Gallo Cappuccio. He came to this country in 1973.

Pietro, also known as "Pizza Pete," had worked in restaurant management for many years and was currently operating the Brooklyn Pizzeria in Burlington, N.J. He previously was the owner/operator of Napoli Pizza in Butler and Cappuccio's Pizza in Boardman, Ohio.

He was a member of the Holy Family Church.

He is survived by his wife, the former Florence DeChellis, who he married April 16, 1983; a daughter, Gina Cappuccio; two sons, P.J. Cappuccio and Andrew, all at home; his mother, Nicolina Cappuccio of Sleepy Hollow, N.Y. and Italy; two sisters, Josephine Guzzo of Sleepy Hollow and Anna Marie Cappuccio of South America; his mother-in-law, Flora DeChellis; two sisters-in-law, Laura (Rick) DiMuzio and Lucia (Bob) Lovell, both of Poland; two brothers-in-law, Gino DeChellis of Poland and Pasquale Guzzo of Sleepy Hollow; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Sabato Cappuccio; a brother, Antonio Cappuccio; and his father-in-law, Gino DeChellis.

<B>Cappuccio</B> — Friends of Pietro "Peter" Cappuccio, who died Friday, July 16, 2010, may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the <B>Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home</B>, Poland Chapel, 2726 Center Road/Route 224, Poland, Ohio. Prayers will be at 9:30 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. at the Holy Family Church, Poland, Ohio.
