Dearest Glenn
I can't believe its been ten years since you went home to be with Jesus, Glenny and most of our families.
I read the paper every evening and so many husbands and wives are sorry they didn't get to say goodbye.
Our kids and myself were with you, and you knew you weren't alone.
The room was filled with love and sadness.
I had my head on your pillow and my cheek next to yours.
You tried to lift your mask but you were too weak.
I lifted it for you.
I looked at you and said, Daddy I love you, and in a weakened whisper you said I love you too.
I put the mask back on and put my cheek against yours again.
You seemed so peaceful and without a sound you slipped away.
We were all heartbroken but we knew you were out of pain.
You were going with Jesus to prepare a home for us some day.
You were such a good person and you were very kind and sincere.
Even now people will tell me things you did for them that I didn't even know.
Most of the kids are grown up now, but they still remember you Santa Clausing them.
You did it faithfully for 48 years.
This was a serious volunteer task that you loved.
I wish we would have kept track somehow of the ones you made happy.
You made a point of visiting the senior citizens in homes, hospitals and at their homes especially those who were house bound, children's parties the firemen had, Sunday schools, regular schools, handicapped and if someone was sick.
By your calendar we tried to estimate how many you saw, but we came up with thousands.
You were loved by many.
There were approximately 1000 people came to the funeral home to pay their respect.
I missed you but I was so busy with Glenny and the grandkids.
Thank God I had Glenny for five years after you went to heaven.
I knew he was a special person, but I soon learned he was an angel on earth, even though all his life he was in braces, casts and wheelchairs.
He was known for his personality and smile, whit and making people laugh.
He was with us 47 years which the doctors said was 20 years longer than most.
He loved you dearly but his faith in God saw us through.
Yes Glenn, we had 49 years of the American Dream, but the new generations coming and must learn what we already have gone through.
The world today is different. Disrespect of the Lord and greed has taken over.
But if we have faith and prayers somehow God will see us through.
Thank you for giving me advice when I ask you what should I do? In someway I get your answer.
Give Glenny a big hug for us.
I hope you know how much you are missed and greatly loved.
Till we meet again,
XXXXOOOO
