Rev. David Bowland

The Rev. David L. Bowland, 83, of Cabot passed away Sunday at Concordia Lutheran Ministries.

Born Sept. 3, 1926, in New Castle, he was the son of Albert Bowland and Mary Hoskins Bowland.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and in the occupation of Japan.

He was a retired minister, having served 47 years in the Christian Missionary Alliance Church and he served as assistant district superintendent.

His quick wit and sense of humor enriched the lives of others through his ministries.

Surviving are his wife, Elizabeth Jones Bowland, who he married Feb. 15, 1947; two daughters, Carol (Richard) States of Cortland, Ohio, and Donna (Ernest) Conley of Pittsburgh; a son, David (Carol) Bowland of Lucerne, Pa.; a sister, Edna (Art) Wall of Arizona; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Viola McGarvey.

<B>BOWLAND</B> — Friends of the Rev. David L. Bowland, who died Sunday, June 6, 2010, will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the <B>Fox Funeral Home</B>, Saxonburg. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the Freeport Road Alliance Church with his son-in-law, the Rev. Ernest Conley, and the Rev.
