Richard Burns.Burns, who also received the Achievement Award, is a member of the Arc. He is currently an employee of the Career TRACK Senior Aide Program. He will be hired in September by the YWCA as a maintenance worker in its Under Our Wing building.———

The Muscular Dystrophy Association in Butler County raised $25,300 on June 24 in a jail-a-thon at the Brickhouse restaurant on Main Street.One of the people "jailed," who had to collect donations to be bailed out, was Sherry Halm of Butler.She had her son, Donovan, and her dog, Marlo, both dressed in fundraising t-shirts, walk along Main Street to collect donations.Marlo helped the Halms raised $500 for the group.———

Amber Allday, 11, of Butler was chosen as a state finalist in the National American Miss Pennsylvania pageant to be held Aug. 14 at the Hilton Hotel in Harrisburg. Allday will compete in the preteen division.———The winners at the
