Developments get approval from supervisors
CRANBERRY TWP — Township supervisors Thursday evening approved several new developments, including a new addition to the rue 21 building and a new flex office/warehouse building in the Thorn Hill RIDC Industrial Park.
A new businesses also was approved and a second is expected to get preliminary approval on Aug. 5.
In addition, the Rose E. Schneider Family YMCA will construct a new pavilion.
Among the new developments that are in the township's future include:

X-Cel Gymnastics — A 6,240-square-foot second studio will be in a building at 500 Commonwealth Dr. just down from the studio's first studio at 220 Executive Dr. The new studio will offering cheerleading and beginner gymnastics.•
Rose E. Schneider Family YMCA — The YMCA off Ehrman Road is constructing a 1,400-square-foot outdoor pavilion near its multipurpose field that will be patterned after the township's park pavilions.•
Commons at RIDC Park — A new 48,400-square-foot flex office/warehouse is proposed to be built in Thorn Hill RIDC Industrial Park at 765 Commonwealth Drive.The 39-acre site near the Cranberry border with Marshall Township is designed to match a sister building of similar size to be developed later.•
rue 21 — The clothing retailer will build a two-story 23,200-square-foot addition to its existing office building at 800 Commonwealth Dr. in the Thorn Hill RIDC Industrial Park.•
Oak Tree Place — The Firestone Complete Service Center will take the final parcel of the development at the former site of the Oak Leaf Motel on Route 19 near the Marshall Township border.The new 8,142-square-foot auto repair facility will be in front of the previously approved Candlewood Suites Hotel, that has not yet constructed.
