HARMONY — The Harmony Business Association's 15th annual free summer evening concert series begins at 7:30 p.m. July 1 with a well-known band and fireworks jump-starting the Independence Day weekend.
Kardaz, presented by the Harmony Museum, will perform classics from the 1950s, '60s and '70s. The evening will be capped by a Zambelli International fireworks show. Food and refreshments will be available. Concert-goers should take their own chairs.
Other concerts in the series will be:

• Rendition Band, Aug. 5
• Pop Rocks, Aug. 19.
These three concerts also begin at 7:30 p.m. in the diamond at the Main and Mercer streets.

Tickets for the Butler Musical Theatre Guild and Butler County Community College production of "Damn Yankees" are available now.The show will begin at 8 p.m. July 16 and 17 and at 3 p.m. July 18 at the Succop Theater at BC3.The production is being directed by Larry Stock with musical direction by Karen O'Donnell and choreography by Buddy Thompson. SLIPPERY ROCK — The Old Stone House will be the site of "Celebrate Pennsylvania! A History in Story and Song" on July 10.The evening with performer Paula Purnell will begin at 7 p.m. at the reconstructed 1822 stagecoach tavern and history museum at the intersection of routes 8, 173 and 528 north of Butler.This interactive presentation features songs written by and about the people of Pennsylvania using authentic instruments, costumes and props.Admission is free, but seating is limited so reservations are recommended. JEFFERSON TWP — Concordia Haven Apartments will host Pittsburgh broadcaster Dave Crawley for a presentation on "Broadcast Legends of Western PA" at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the Haven I social hall, 112 Marwood Road.Crawley has earned 10 Emmy Awards. In addition to taping more than 3,000 stories, he has published several books and many poems.The event is free. The Butler Little Theatre recently concluded its 69th season.At the annual business meeting, Stephanie Kobil, Stefan Lingenfelter, Ron Lockwood, Dan McCarty, Shirley Ann Minehart and Dean Weiland were elected to the board of directors.Additionally, the BLT Summer Youth Program which will present "Frankenstein," has shifted to a version by playwright Victor Gialanella. The show will go on July 22, 23 and 24 at the theater at One Howard St.
EMLENTON — A run-up event to the 2010 Venango Digital Film Festival will be held July 8 at the Crawford Center,"Film to Film" will be presented by filmmaker Matthew Hovis at 7 p.m. He will discuss photography and videography.The event is free but donations will be accepted. GROVE CITY — Olde Town Grove City, Route 208 near the intersection of interstates 80 and 79, will be the site of six free summer concerts during the Joseph D.
