Margaret Heasley
Margaret J. "Marg" Heasley, 85, formerly of Saxonburg, died Thursday morning at Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born in Butler, Sept. 25, 1924, she was a daughter of the late Edward and Ruth Brewer Culbertson. She was a 1942 graduate of Butler High School.
Margaret and her husband started the Glenn Heasley Nursery in Saxonburg during 1960 and operated it until the late 1990s. Presently, the family business continues to be operated by their son, Doug.
She was a conservative, enjoyed politics and listening to talk radio programs and big band music. She was proud of the city of Butler and attended many local activities. She was also a devoted reader of the Bible.
The widow of Glenn "Red" Heasley, they had married Oct. 15, 1947, and he died March 23, 1987. She was the last survivor of her immediate family as she was preceded in death by a brother, Abe Culbertson, and four sisters, Freda, Jane, Peg and Donna.
Surviving are a son, Doug G. Heasley and his wife, Terry, of Saxonburg; and a daughter, Lynn A. Heasley and her companion, Ed Keiser, of Cranberry Township, with whom Marg had made her home since 2002.
<B>HEASLEY </B>—<B> </B>Funeral services for Margaret J. "Marg" Heasley, who died Thursday, May 20, 2010, will be at noon Tuesday at the Chapel of Devotion at the Butler County Memorial Park cemetery, Evans City Road, Butler. Her nephew, the Rev. C.F. Hoffman, will officiate. Interment will follow. There will be no visitation.In lieu of flowers, the family prefers that memorial donations could be made to the U.S.O. (United Service Organizations), P.O.
