Beachem

Gary Lee Beachem, 65, of Slippery Rock, Worth Township, died at 9:21 a.m. Monday.

He was born June 2, 1945, in Grove City, the son of Cecil Rhodes and Florence Boyd Beachem.

On March 17, 1968, he married Judith "Judy" Ellen Parson Beachem.

Mr. Beachem was a retired truck driver. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in the 173rd Airborne in Vietnam. He enjoyed fishing, mowing grass, politics and going to the beach.

He was a Protestant.

He is survived by his wife; a son, Joseph L. Beachem and his wife, Anna Marie, of Cranberry Township; a daughter, Julee L. Cararini and her husband, Gary, of Slippery Rock; a brother, Eugene Beachem of Texas; a sister, Laura Cawthorne of Slippery Rock; and seven grandchildren, Tyler, Brittany, Aric, Joseph and Miranda Beachem, and Haley and Hannah Cararini.

He was preceded in death by parents.

<B>BEACHEM — </B>Friends of Gary Lee Beachem, who died Monday, June 21, 2010, will be received from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at <B>SMITH FUNERAL HOME, </B>421 New Castle St. Slippery Rock. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Portersville Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
