The American method of obtaining energy is ludicrous: paying our enemies for a limited resource that is harmful to the environment when we could put that money toward alternative, clean resources in our own country.

Developing a clean and plentiful, homegrown energy source would not only create jobs in America; it would alleviate our dependence on foreign resources, thus strengthening our national security.

The oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico is only the tip of our dirty fuel-dependence iceberg that is damaging our environment and economy, and it is time to save our planet and country.
