"Butler To Broadway" featuring Butler County native and Tony Award-winner Michele Pawk will begin at 8 p.m. Saturday at the Succop Theater at Butler County Community College.

Pawk will perform a variety of musical selections and will be joined by Whitney Ann Jenkins, fellow veteran of Butler's Musical Theatre Guild and the Butler Little Theatre, for a few numbers.

Members of BLT will assist in a brief scene from "Hollywood Arms," the play in which Pawk gave her Tony-winning performance, and MTG will provide backup for several of the musical numbers.

Proceeds will benefit the Mary Jo Mohn Scholarship fund for BC3 students pursuing careers in the performing arts.

SAXONBURG — The annual Saxonburg Volunteer Fire Company Fireman's Carnival continues through Saturday.Favorite events still to take place are the Fireman's Parade at 6:30 p.m. today and the Miss Saxonburg pageant at 7:30 p.m. Friday.The carnival rides are open from 6 to 11 p.m. daily, with matinee hours from 1 to 6 p.m. Saturday, during which time two bicycles will be given away.Carnival tickets are $20 each, but a coupon for $5 off is available at Saxonburg businesses including Friedman's Freshmarket, C&S Hardware and Kelley's Restaurant.Winners of raffles for cash, a 42-inch high definition TV and a 2010 Kawasaki Mule will be drawn on Saturday.For information, call 724-352-3300.

SAXONBURG — Classic cars will line the historic Main Street during the borough's first car cruise of the year from 5 to 9 p.m. Tuesday.The Saxonburg Car Cruise & Collectible Market will include vendors selling crafts and antiques."We are excited that the Rodfathers car club is returning to Saxonburg and working together with the community to offer something that is more than the ordinary car cruise," said Beth Ann Ray, chairwoman of the John Roebling's Historic Saxonburg Society, in a news release.Visitors can take "A Step Back in Time," the theme for the night, and enjoy the display of cars from the 1950s and 1960s while also visiting the market.More than 500 people attended the June 2009 car cruise, which had more than 150 vehicles, according to the release.Vendors of crafts and antiques may register for $10 by contacting the society at 724-352-1400 Ext. 232.Cruise participants can show their cars for free, and dash plaques will be given to the first 100 cars.For additional car cruise information, call 724-816-2599 or 724-352-4426.Other cruises in Saxonburg will be on July 27, Aug. 24, Sep. 28, and Oct. 9.

A guided walking tour of Butler's historic Diamond Park is planned for 7 to 9 p.m. today.The first walking tour of the season will include an inside look at the Lowrie/Shaw house and a rare after hours look inside the historic courthouse.Tickets are $10 per adult and $5 for children younger than 12. CENTER TWP — Jason Cherry of Butler will have a book signing for his two books from 1 to 4 p.m. June 26 at Borders Express at Clearview Mall.The first book entitled "Come Hither" is a historical fiction novel set during the 1770s just before the American Revolution began.
