Doris Leonberg Betts

Doris Leonberg Betts, 82, of Zelienople, formerly of Daytona Beach, Fla., died peacefully Sunday surrounded by her family at the Passavant Retirement Community, Zelienople.

Born in Zelienople, June 10, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Mable (Lutz) Leonberg.

She moved to Daytona Beach in 1969 and was a member of the United Presbyterian Church.

She was a gentle, loving, soft-spoken woman who was down to earth.

She was a buyer of women's clothing and manager of the women's department store at Doby's Boutique in Daytona Beach where she lived for more than 35 years.

Before moving to Florida, she lived in College Hill, Beaver Falls, where she raised her family and poured her heart into cooking and keeping an orderly, clean home, full of many blessings.

She loved animals, especially her dog, Tipper. A lover of dancing, she played the piano and listening to music was one of her favorite pastimes. Her presence made life easier for everyone around her.

Surviving are one daughter, Connie Bable McCullough and son-in-law, Terry of Gibsonia; one granddaughter, Tara and her husband, Paul Taylor, of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; and a sister, Shirley Veon of Mars.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dwight Betts; her parents; two brothers, Dick and Robert Leonberg; and a sister, Isabelle Rupert.

<B>BETTS</B> — Friends of Doris Leonberg Betts, who died Sunday, May 9, 2010, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. Tuesday at the <B>Boylan Funeral Home</B>, 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople, where a blessing service will follow at 4 p.m. with Father Charles S. Bober, pastor, officiating. Interment will be in St. Peter's Reformed Church Cemetery, Zelienople.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Kilian Church Building Fund, 7076 Franklin Road, Cranberry Township PA 16066.Online condolences and directions are available at www.boylanfuneralhome.com.
