Stella P. Martin, 83, of Creek Bottom Road, Harrisville, passed away Saturday at UPMC Northwest Seneca.

Born Aug. 7, 1926, in Homestead, she was the daughter of James and Alice Beavers.

Mrs. Martin graduated from high school in Homestead.

Mrs. Martin worked at the Polk Center from 1966 to 1973 as a nurse's aide. She later worked at OPM in Boyers, where she retired. Mrs. Martin owned and operated Martin Oil in Windy Point, where she took part in not only running the company but working in the oil fields with her sons.

She married John Lewis Martin on May 17, 1948, and he passed away Jan. 2, 1987.

Mrs. Martin enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed spending the past 10 winters in Florida at her Florida home with her companion, Louie Witherup.

Mrs. Martin is the last surviving member of her immediate family of 13 brothers and sisters.

Surviving are her two sons, John L. "Jack" Martin Jr. of Slippery Rock and James A. "Al" Martin of Clintonville; eight grandchildren, Jody L. Martin and his wife, Tara, of Columbia, Mo., Ragean P. Lee and her husband, Clayton, of Slippery Rock, Mary E. Harris of Dubois, Lisa R. Rice of Sugarcreek, Caressa A. Martin of Clintonville, Destiny M. Haag and her husband, Brent, of Grove City, Jamie L. Martin of West Sunbury and Justin A. Martin of Windy Point; and 12 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband and brothers and sisters.

<B>MARTIN</B> — The family of Stella P. Martin, who died Saturday, May 1, 2010, will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the <B>Larry E. McKinley Funeral Home</B>, 109 Emlenton St., Clintonville. Funeral services will take place at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Kenneth Hughes from the New Covenant Charge officiating. Interment will take place at the Clintonville Methodist Cemetery.The family suggest memorials be made to a charity of one's choice.You may e-mail the family condolences by visiting www.mckinleyfuneralhome.net.
