Christianity, self-discovery at center of education

At Geneva College, education is more than career training. It's a pathway to purpose, a way for students to grow and develop into the people God designed them to be.

Geneva's 55-acre campus is in Beaver Falls, southwest of Butler County.

Founded in 1848 by the Reformed Presbyterian Church of North America, Geneva is committed to a Christian worldview that acknowledges God's sovereignty over every area of creation. This includes every field of study, every athletic program and every extracurricular pursuit.

Geneva has an array of academic options and opportunities. Our choice of 36 academic majors range from accounting to writing, including biblical languages, cardiovascular services, elementary education, engineering, music performance, psychology and more.

About 95 percent of Geneva College students receive financial aid. About 70 percent of students complete internships. A host of off-campus study opportunities are available around the globe, including our own Semester in Rome.

Professors with wide-ranging experience and expertise are dedicated to helping students expand their minds and challenging them to learn more about themselves and the world around them.

Of Geneva's 96 full-time faculty members, 76 percent have doctorates. The student-to-faculty ratio is 13:1. The average class size is 17.

A Geneva College education has proven benefits: Within six months of graduation, 97 percent of graduates are either working or in graduate school. More than half of those have their position before graduating.

Students pursuing postgraduate degrees gain admission to prestigious universities all over the country, including Azusa Pacific University, Duke Divinity School, University of Akron Law School and Virginia Tech University.

The Geneva College Golden Tornadoes compete in 15 intercollegiate sports, including baseball, basketball, cross-country, football, soccer, softball, tennis, track and field, and volleyball. Geneva is a member of NCAA Division III, the President's Athletic Conference and the National Christian College Athletic Association.

A multitude of extracurricular activities exist, such as the International Justice Mission, the Rugby Club or theater. Intramural sports tournaments are held year-round.

Geneva also offers six master's programs in counseling, higher education, business, reading, special education and organizational leadership. It also offers an Adult Degree Completion Program.

Geneva College is a member of the Council for Christian Colleges & Universities (CCCU), and is one of four Western Pennsylvanian schools in the council. CCCU membership is for schools that are intentionally Christ-centered, rooted in the historic Christian faith and make a priority of the integration of scholarship and biblical faith and service.
