BC3 cleaning up tree damage
BUTLER TWP — Butler County Community College continued cleanup of damage caused to one its campus buildings by Saturday's storm.
A 60-foot Oak tree about 4 p.m. Saturday fell on the roof of Armstrong Lodge, home to BC3's Children's Creative Learning Center. The building was significantly damaged, but there is no cost estimate yet. No one was injured.
Brian Opitz, director of Operations, and his staff removed the tree over the weekend and are working today to prevent further water damage to the building. The roof has been covered.
While preschool, day care and kindergarten at the children's center are done for the year, the staff went to a temporary office in the Student Success Center.
